Technique
Setup
Adjust the seat so the handles start at about shoulder height. Sit with your back flat against the pad, feet planted, and take the handles with your wrists stacked over your elbows.
Movement
Press the handles overhead until your arms are almost straight. Lower under control until the handles are back at shoulder height.
Form Tip
Keep your back against the pad and your ribs down. Arching away from the pad turns the press into an incline press and loads your lower back.
Increase Difficulty
Pause for 1 second at the bottom, or slow the lowering phase to 3 seconds.
Decrease Difficulty
Use a lighter stack, or stop the lowering just above shoulder height.
