Technique
Setup
Stand tall with feet hip-width apart. Hold dumbbells at shoulder height, palms facing forward or slightly inward (neutral-ish grip). Brace your core and squeeze your glutes.
Movement
Press the dumbbells upward until your arms are fully extended overhead. Lower them back to shoulder height with control.
Form Tip
Avoid arching your lower back as you press. Keep your ribcage tucked down to maintain core stability and shoulder safety.
Increase Difficulty
Perform the movement seated without back support to challenge core stability further.
Decrease Difficulty
Use a seated bench with back support to isolate the shoulders.
