Technique
Setup
Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing your thighs.
Movement
Lift the weights directly in front of you to shoulder height, keeping a slight bend in the elbows. Lower slowly to the start.
Form Tip
Do not swing your torso or arch your back. Focus on lifting with the front deltoids. A slight internal rotation (thumbs down) can shift more tension to the deltoids.
Increase Difficulty
Perform the exercise one arm at a time to increase core stabilization or use a 3-second eccentric phase.
Decrease Difficulty
Use lighter weights or alternate arms to manage fatigue.
