Technique
Setup
Attach a rope to a pulley set at about head height and hold an end in each hand. Turn away from the machine and step forward into a split stance with the rope behind your head and your elbows bent and pointing forward.
Movement
Straighten your elbows to drive the rope forward and up until your arms are in line with your ears. Let your hands come back behind your head slowly until you feel a deep stretch in your triceps.
Form Tip
Keep your elbows pointing forward and close to your head. When they flare wide, your shoulders take over and the triceps lose the stretch.
Increase Difficulty
Slow the lowering phase to 3 seconds, or pause in the stretched position.
Decrease Difficulty
Use a lighter stack, or switch to Overhead Tricep Extensions with one dumbbell.
