Technique
Setup
Assume a push-up position with hands placed closer than shoulder-width (roughly in line with your shoulders or slightly narrower).
Movement
Lower your chest toward the floor, keeping your elbows tucked tightly against your ribs. Push back up to the start.
Form Tip
Focus on the triceps. Keeping the elbows in is the key to shifting the load away from the chest and onto the arms.
Increase Difficulty
Elevate your feet or perform with a slow 4-second eccentric phase.
Decrease Difficulty
Perform the movement with your knees on the floor.
