Technique
Setup
Attach a straight or EZ curl bar to the low pulley and hold it with an underhand grip about shoulder width apart. Stand tall close to the machine with your elbows by your sides.
Movement
Curl the bar toward your shoulders, keeping your upper arms still. Squeeze at the top, then lower slowly until your arms are fully straight.
Form Tip
The cable keeps tension at the bottom where dumbbells go slack, so use the full range. Keep your elbows pinned; letting them drift forward brings the shoulder into the lift.
Increase Difficulty
Slow the lowering phase to 3 seconds, or pause at the top.
Decrease Difficulty
Use a lighter stack, or switch to Band Bicep Curls.
