Technique
Setup
Sit in the leg press with your back flat on the pad and place one foot in the center of the platform, in line with your hip. Rest your other foot on the floor or the frame, release the safeties, and hold the side grips.
Movement
Lower the platform with control until your knee is bent to about 90 degrees, keeping your hips on the seat. Press through your whole foot to return, stopping short of lockout, then finish the set and switch legs.
Form Tip
Single-leg work exposes the side that is weaker or less stable. Start lighter than half your two-legged load and match the reps on both sides.
Increase Difficulty
Slow the lowering phase to 3 seconds, or pause at the bottom.
Decrease Difficulty
Use a lighter load, or go back to the two-legged Leg Press.
