Technique
Setup
Stand on one leg with the other knee bent so that foot floats behind you. Place a folded towel or cushion on the floor under the back knee and reach your arms forward for balance.
Movement
Bend the standing leg and let your chest tip forward as you lower the back knee gently onto the cushion. Drive through the whole foot of the standing leg to rise without letting the back foot touch down. Finish all reps, then switch sides.
Form Tip
Let your torso lean forward so your hips can travel back; staying bolt upright pushes the front knee too far forward and makes balance harder.
Increase Difficulty
Remove the cushion for a longer range, or pause with the back knee hovering just above the floor.
Decrease Difficulty
Stack more cushions under the back knee to shorten the range, or hold a door frame for balance.
