Technique
Setup
Place your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width on a bench, box, or sturdy chair. Step your feet back until your body forms a straight line from head to heels.
Movement
Lower your chest to the edge of the surface by bending your elbows at about 45 degrees, then press back up to full extension.
Form Tip
Keep your hips in line with your body — don't let them sag or pike. The higher the surface, the easier the rep.
Increase Difficulty
Use a lower surface to increase the load.
Decrease Difficulty
Use a higher surface, like a wall or countertop.
