Technique
Setup
Sit on the floor with your legs straight and roll a padded barbell over your thighs until it rests in the crease of your hips. Lie back, bend your knees, and set your feet flat about hip-width apart, holding the bar steady with both hands.
Movement
Drive through your heels to lift your hips until your body is straight from shoulders to knees, and squeeze your glutes for a second. Lower until your glutes lightly touch the floor.
Form Tip
Tuck your chin and keep your ribs down at the top; pushing higher by arching your lower back takes the work off your glutes.
Increase Difficulty
Add weight, pause for 2 seconds at the top, or move to Barbell Hip Thrusts for more range.
Decrease Difficulty
Use a lighter bar, or do Glute Bridges with no weight.
